High Horizon Final Operating Boundary and Homepage Summary
This is not legal advice. It is an operations/planning summary document. Before actual publication, Korean legal/tax matters, mail-order sales business matters, cross-border personal information transfer, and Philippine teacher contract/tax matters must be confirmed with qualified professionals.

3. Content to Remove or Lower on the Homepage
| Current/possible copy | Treatment | Reason |
|---|---|---|

| Subscription, membership, monthly automatic payment | Remove | Can imply continuous transaction/academy-like service |
| High Horizon designs the curriculum | Remove | Makes the platform look like the instructional provider |
| Target score guarantee | Remove | Risk of exaggerated advertising/disputes |
| All teachers have 20 years of experience | Remove | Display only as facts per individual teacher |
| AI real-time transcription/correction is included by default in every lesson | Remove | Not currently implemented as a base feature of this service |
| Level confirmed through free level test | Lower | AI reference diagnosis only, not official placement |
| Supervisor-background teaching staff | Lower | Display only per matching teacher profile |

5. AI Feature Boundary
5.1 Free AI Level Check
Keep it. However, do not express it as an official test/placement/guarantee feature.
Definition:
- A reference tool that students use lightly before class to check their current English state
- Results are used only for teacher selection, first lesson preparation, and learning direction consultation
- Results do not mean a score guarantee or an official IELTS band decision
Homepage copy:
Check your current English state first with a simple AI level check,
and use the result as a reference for teacher selection and first lesson preparation.

Caution copy:

5.2 AI Real-Time Transcription/Correction
Do not describe this as a required feature provided in the main High Horizon lessons. Separate it as a teacher SaaS/utility.
Definition:
- A separate tool teachers can use directly during lessons when needed
- Supports transcription, grammar error marking, lesson notes, and lesson report draft generation
- Not a basic lesson feature always provided to students
- Managed as a separate product line from the High Horizon lesson marketplace
Product distinction:
| Product | Role |
|---|---|
| High Horizon Lesson Marketplace | Student-teacher booking, payment, Meet links, refund/make-up |
| Teacher Utility SaaS | Teacher AI transcription, correction, lesson notes, report support |
Homepage copy:
Some teachers may use a separate teacher AI tool to support lesson notes and feedback.
AI does not replace teachers, and the responsible teacher remains responsible for lesson delivery and feedback.
Some teachers may use a separate AI utility to support lesson notes and feedback.
AI does not replace the teacher; lesson delivery and feedback remain the teacher's responsibility.
6. Refund/Cancellation/Make-Up Policy Direction
6.1 Individual Lessons
Student cancellation:
- Until 24 hours before lesson start: full refund or credit
- Within 24 hours before lesson start: in principle, no refund
- No-show: in principle, no refund
- If mandatory rules such as statutory withdrawal rights/advertising mismatch are more favorable, apply that standard
Homepage copy:
Individual lessons are processed as a full refund or credit if cancelled up to 24 hours before the lesson starts.
Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows are generally non-refundable.
Individual lessons can be cancelled for a full refund or credit up to 24 hours before the lesson starts.
Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are generally non-refundable.
6.2 IELTS Short Courses
Standard:
- Before start: full refund
- After start: refund based on remaining sessions, excluding sessions already delivered or sessions whose cancellable time has passed
- Apply the standard more favorable to the student among e-commerce withdrawal rights, proportional remaining sessions, and conservative consumer refund standards
- Sessions cancelled due to teacher/platform reasons are not treated as consumed sessions
Homepage copy:
IELTS short courses are fully refundable before they start.
After the course starts, the refund amount is calculated by excluding sessions already provided or sessions whose cancellable time has passed,
using the standard more favorable to the student.
IELTS short courses are fully refundable before the first lesson begins.
After the course starts, refunds are calculated by excluding delivered sessions
and sessions that are no longer cancellable, using the standard most favorable to the student.
6.3 Teacher Absence
Teacher absence or teacher-side cancellation:
- Issue one make-up credit with the same teacher to the student
- If the student wants, allow refund choice for that session
- Default make-up credit validity period: 30 days
- Use only on open times of the same teacher
Homepage copy:
If a lesson is cancelled due to a teacher-side reason, a make-up credit with the same teacher is issued.
If the student wants, they may request a refund for that session.
If a lesson is cancelled for teacher-side reasons, the student receives a make-up credit with the same teacher.
The student may request a refund for that session instead.
7. Baguio Power Outage/Internet Disruption Board
In the Philippines, especially in the Baguio area, power outages/internet disruptions are lesson operation risks. Do not hide this. Manage it with an operations board.
Name candidates:
- Baguio Live Class Status
- Teacher Connectivity Board
- Baguio Power & Internet Board
- Class Connection Status Board
Recommended name:
Baguio Class Status Board
Purpose:
- Quickly display power outage/internet disruption in teacher areas
- Clearly guide students on lesson possibility, delay possibility, and make-up handling standards
- Distinguish teacher absence from local infrastructure disruption
- Let operations handle make-up credit/refund decisions consistently
Status values:
| Status | Meaning | Student guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Normal | Proceed as scheduled |
| Watch | Possibility of power/internet instability | Delay may occur |
| Outage | Power/internet disruption confirmed | Lesson cancellation/make-up handling possible |
| Recovery | Recovering | Proceed after teacher confirmation |
Basic operating rules:
- When teachers learn of a power outage/internet disruption, they immediately report it to the platform.
- Operations changes the status board to
WatchorOutage. - If confirmed lessons are affected, students receive email/web notifications.
- If the lesson cannot proceed, process it as
teacher_cancelled. - Provide the student with a make-up credit or refund option.
- After the disruption ends, return to
NormalthroughRecovery.
Public scope:
- Can be public: regional status, affected time range, replacement/make-up guidance
- Keep private: teacher personal address, phone number, detailed carrier account information
Homepage/notice copy:

8.3 Required Pre-Launch Questionnaire

| Category | Question to confirm with the teacher | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Independent status | Do you agree that you provide lessons as an independent teacher or independent business based in the Philippines, and that you are not an employee, agent, or exclusive teacher of High Horizon? | Contract and education-law boundary |
| B2B contract | Do you agree that each teacher has their own independent business status and works with High Horizon through a B2B contract? | Contract structure |
| Tax/settlement principle | Do you understand that High Horizon will first review and proceed with the most suitable tax and settlement method through a tax accountant? | Tax and settlement review |

| No score guarantee | Do you agree not to use IELTS target-score guarantees, pass guarantees, or guaranteed score-improvement language? | Advertising and dispute prevention |
| Dispute support | Do you agree to provide attendance, lesson progress, student feedback, and outage report records when refund or dispute handling requires them? | Support and refunds |
8.4 Pre-Launch Conclusion
There are required items to confirm with Philippine teachers. However, sensitive settlement information such as amount, bank account, currency, and fee details is known and managed separately by the operator, and should not be included in this questionnaire. At minimum, collect answers to the questionnaire above and verify independent teacher/B2B contract status, tax-accountant review premise, lesson ownership, course limits, absence/outage response, and privacy/AI boundaries before publishing a teacher profile or opening lessons on the web service.

10. Parts That Do Not Yet Match the Implementation
Differences that need immediate attention based on the current code:
- Toss/Stripe live payment is not implemented yet.
- Course package payment currently uses a stub paid flow.
- AI level check is not implemented yet.
- Teacher AI transcription/correction SaaS is not separately implemented yet.
- Baguio Class Status Board is not implemented yet.
- The privacy/terms/refund documents still contain pre-final placeholders such as operator information, customer support, AI provider, and hosting country.
- Homepage AI transcription copy should be lowered so it does not look like "provided by default in every lesson."
- The homepage expression "curriculum" should be changed to "lessons composed by teachers."
11. Priority
- Reflect marketplace/intermediary boundary in homepage copy
- Add free AI level check as a reference diagnosis
- Mark AI transcription/correction separately as Teacher Utility SaaS
- Organize refund/teacher absence/power outage response copy
- Create teacher onboarding checklist
- Design minimum function for Baguio Class Status Board
- Implement Toss/Stripe real path before switching to live payment
- Legal/tax review before publication
